Gasthaus Rottner

The Gasthaus Rottner has been family owned for more than 200 years. The Rottner family offers regional, seasonal cuisine, prepared in a contemporary and innovative way. In the summer months, you can enjoy your meal under shade of linden trees in the fabulous restaurant garden. Or in Franconian style under the nut trees in front of the house. Events - such as a culinary cinema-in-the-barn or cooking courses with award-winning Chef Rottner - round out the offerings.

Dining

Without a shadow of doubt, Nuremberg’s most famous food export is the Nürnberger Rostbratwurst. No bigger than your finger, you can order 6, 8, 10 or 12 of these sausages, which are in most cases served with sauerkraut or potato salad. If you’re feeling a bit peckish in between meals, why not try a “3 im Weggla” (3 sausages in a roll), which is generally garnished with mustard. Or if you’re in the mood for a hearty meal, how about sampling the delights on Franconian menus, which traditionally include “Schäuferle mit Kloss und Soss” (roasted pork shoulder with dumplings and gravy) or Sauerbraten (marinated beef). You can’t come to Nuremberg and not try the local delicacies!
